Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Hoggard Vikings (Wilmington, NC) and the visiting Topsail Pirates (Hampstead, NC), saw Hoggard's basketball squad wallop Topsail by a count of 75-41.

With the victory, Hoggard upgrades its record to 9-5 on the campaign. The Vikings host Ashley (Wilmington, NC) to play the Screaming Eagle in a 3A/4A Mideastern challenge on Friday, January 12. The Screaming Eagle come into the challenge with a record of 3-10. Ashley lost 59-56 in their recent league challenge against West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC)

Next up, the Pirates play the South Brunswick Cougars (Southport, NC) in a 3A/4A Mideastern challenge, on Friday, January 12. Topsail will attempt to upgrade on its 3-10 season record. The Cougars come into the challenge with a 3-11 record after their 70-53 league loss to Laney (Wilmington, NC).
