In Friday's non-league test, the Burney Raiders (Burney, CA) basketball squad knocked off the host Surprise Valley Hornets (Cedarville, CA), by a score of 49-40.

Next, the Raiders encounter the Chester Volcanoes (Chester, CA) in a Five Star test, on Tuesday, January 14. Burney will attempt to improve on its 5-8 season record. The Volcanoes come into the test with a 10-6 record after their 41-36 non-league loss to Big Valley (Bieber, CA).

The Hornets (2-9) will now prepare for their test against Westwood (Westwood, CA). The Lumberjacks come into the non-league test with a 9-5 record. In their last test, Westwood was knocked off by Loyalton (Loyalton, CA), 62-49, in a league test.
