The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Valley Vista Monsoon (Surprise, AZ) and the host O'Connor Eagles (Phoenix, AZ), observed Valley Vista's basketball team overcome O'Connor by a margin of 68-54.

The Monsoon (10-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Apollo (Glendale, AZ). The Hawks come into the 6A West Valley challenge with a 2-5 record.

In their next game, the Eagles battle the Sunnyslope Vikings (Phoenix, AZ) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 13. O'Connor will attempt to better on its 6-7 season record.
