Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Narrows Green Waves (Narrows, VA) and the visiting Covington Cougars (Covington, VA), saw Narrows's basketball squad hold off Covington by a tally of 73-72.

With the victory, Narrows improves its record to 6-3 on the campaign. The Green Waves travel to Giles (Pearisburg, VA) to confront the Spartans in a non-league challenge on Thursday, January 13. The Spartans come into the challenge with a record of 6-6. Giles won 51-50 in their recent league challenge against Galax (Galax, VA)

Next up, the Cougars confront the Highland Rams (Monterey, VA) in a Pioneer challenge, on Friday, January 14. Covington will attempt to improve on its 3-7 season record. The Rams come into the challenge with a 3-5 record after their 64-51 non-league loss to Boys' Home (Covington, VA).
