St. Joseph Bears (St. Joseph, MI) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Lakeview Spartans (Battle Creek, MI), 59-55 in a non-league bout.

With the win, St. Joseph upgrades its record to 3-4 on the season. The Bears travel to Portage Northern (Portage, MI) to play the Huskies in a Southwestern Michigan - West bout on Thursday, January 13. The Huskies go into the bout with a record of 2-5. Portage Northern lost 58-33 in their recent league bout against Gull Lake (Richland, MI)

Next up, the Spartans play the Gull Lake Blue Devils (Richland, MI) in a Southwestern Michigan - East bout, on Thursday, January 13. Lakeview will attempt to upgrade on its 3-5 season record. The Blue Devils go into the bout with a 4-4 record after their 58-33 league win over Portage Northern (Portage, MI).
