The John Paul II Catholic Saints basketball team scored 54 points and held the host Rocky Mount Academy Eagles to 49 in the Saints non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Saints now sport a 7-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Wayne Country Day for a NCISAA Coastal Plain contest on Friday, January 13. John Paul II Catholic will battle a Chargers team coming off a 72-41 league win over Wayne Christian (Goldsboro, NC). The Chargers record now stands at 19-4.

The Eagles (4-7) will now prepare for their contest against Arendell Parrott Academy (Kinston, NC). The Patriots enter the non-league contest with a 3-9 record. In their last contest, Arendell Parrott Academy nudged Epiphany (New Bern, NC), 66-55, in a league contest.
