In Wednesday's non-league outing, the Statesville Greyhounds (Statesville, NC) basketball squad beat the visiting Carson Cougars (China Grove, NC), by a count of 39-25.

The Greyhounds (6-5) will now prepare for their outing against St. Stephens (Hickory, NC). The Indians go into the non-league outing with a 5-7 record. In their last outing, St. Stephens was topped by East Lincoln (Denver, NC), 38-28, in a league outing.

The Cougars now hold a 2-10 record. They play next when they host Central Cabarrus for a non-league outing on Friday, January 13. Carson will clash with a Vikings squad coming off a 57-31 non-league win over West Rowan (Mt. Ulla, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 6-2.
