The South Central Falcons basketball team (Winterville, NC), was nudged 53-48 in Thursday's non-league battle with the visiting Northeastern Eagles (Elizabeth City, NC)

The Eagles now possess a 5-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Camden County for a 2A/3A Northeastern Coastal battle on Friday, January 12. Northeastern will confront a Bruins team coming off a 82-38 league loss to First Flight (Kill Devil Hills, NC). The Bruins record now stands at 5-6.

The Falcons (8-1) will now prepare for their battle against Wayne Country Day (Goldsboro, NC). The Chargers come into the non-league battle with a 17-7 record. In their last battle, Wayne Country Day edged Arendell Parrott Academy (Kinston, NC), 69-40, in a league battle.
