Iowa High School Basketball - Abingdon/Avon fells Mediapolis
January 11, 2025: Mediapolis, IA 52637 The Abingdon/Avon Tornadoes basketball team scored 53 points and limited the host Mediapolis Bulldogs to 38 in the Tornadoes non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Tornadoes now have a 16-3 record. They play next when they travel to Monmouth United for a Lincoln Trail game on Monday, January 13. Abingdon/Avon will confront a Red Storm team coming off a 68-14 non-league win over Lowpoint-Washburn (Washburn, IL). The Red Storm record now stands at 17-1.
With the loss, Mediapolis falls to 11-1 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host West Burlington (West Burlington, IA) to confront the Falcons in a SEI - South game on Tuesday, January 14. The Falcons go into the game with a record of 3-9. West Burlington won 41-21 in their recent non-league game against New London (New London, IA)
