In Thursday's non-league match, the host Columbia Capitals basketball team scored a decisive 75-14 triumph over the North Central Knights.

In their next game, the Capitals meet the Bethune-Bowman Mohawks (Orangeburg, SC) in a non-league match, on Saturday, January 14. Columbia will attempt to better on its 13-4 season record. The Mohawks enter the match with a 2-9 record after their 44-32 league win over Whale Branch (Beaufort, SC).

With the defeat, North Central moves to 0-8 on the year. The Knights travel to Chesterfield (Chesterfield, SC) to meet the Golden Rams in a AA Region 5 match on Friday, January 13.
