New Mexico High School Basketball - Hot Springs holds off Thoreau
January 12, 2024: Truth or Consequences, NM 87901 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Hot Springs Tigers (Truth or Consequences, NM) and the visiting Thoreau Hawks (Thoreau, NM), saw Hot Springs's basketball squad hold off Thoreau by a tally of 63-60.
With the victory, Hot Springs improves its record to 8-3 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Lordsburg (Lordsburg, NM) to confront the Mavericks in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 16. The Mavericks come into the challenge with a record of 2-9. Lordsburg lost 59-44 in their recent non-league challenge against Mesilla Valley Christian School (Las Cruces, NM)
Next up, the Hawks confront the Newcomb Skyhawks (Newcomb, NM) in a 3A District 1 challenge, on Tuesday, January 16. Thoreau will attempt to improve on its 6-6 season record. The Skyhawks come into the challenge with a 8-5 record after their 60-49 non-league win over Navajo Pine (Navajo, NM).
