Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Oil City nips Punxsutawney
January 12, 2024: Oil City, PA 16301 Oil City Oilers (Oil City, PA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Punxsutawney Chucks (Punxsutawney, PA), 42-35 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Oil City upgrades its record to 9-3 on the season. The Oilers travel to Titusville (Titusville, PA) to play the Rockets in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Rockets go into the bout with a record of 4-6. Titusville lost 63-45 in their recent non-league bout against Lakeview (Stoneboro, PA)
Next up, the Chucks play the St. Marys Flying Dutch (St. Marys, PA) in a Allegheny Mountain - Southern bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Punxsutawney will attempt to upgrade on its 5-4 season record. The Flying Dutch go into the bout with a 5-8 record after their 55-31 non-league loss to Elk County Catholic (St. Marys, PA).
