The Smoky Mountain Mustangs basketball team (Sylva, NC), was overwhelmed 47-22 in Friday's non-league battle with the host Franklin Panthers (Franklin, NC)

The Panthers now possess a 6-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to West Henderson for a non-league battle on Tuesday, January 16.

The Mustangs (6-6) will now prepare for their battle against Tuscola (Waynesville, NC). The Mountaineers come into the non-league battle with a 12-1 record. In their last battle, Tuscola was overwhelmed by Pisgah (Canton, NC), 50-11, in a league battle.
