Arizona High School Basketball - Safford nips Tanque Verde
January 12, 2024: Tucson, AZ 85749 Safford Bulldogs (Safford, AZ) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Tanque Verde Hawks (Tucson, AZ), 53-46 in a league bout.
With the victory, Safford upgrades its record to 1-2 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Empire (Tucson, AZ) to play the Ravens in a bout on Thursday, January 18. The Ravens come into the bout with a record of 6-6. Empire won 57-56 in their recent league bout against Palo Verde (Tucson, AZ)
Next up, the Hawks play the Thatcher Eagles (Thatcher, AZ) in a bout, on Wednesday, January 17. Tanque Verde will attempt to upgrade on its 6-4 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 2-1 record after their 55-40 league win over Empire (Tucson, AZ).
