The Union Day Gryphons (Weddington, NC) basketball crushed the host Union Preparatory Polar Bears (Indian Trail, NC), 71-37 in Monday's non-league bout.

The Gryphons now possess a 5-7 record. They play next when they travel to Non Varsity Opponent for a non-league bout on Friday, January 16. Union Day will play a team coming off a 66-20 non-league loss to Rankin (Rankin, TX). The record now stands at 101-197.

With the loss, Union Preparatory falls to 4-4 on the campaign. The Polar bears travel to Socrates Academy (Matthews, NC) to clash with the Owls in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 20.
