Brunswick Pirates (Brunswick, GA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Wayne County Yellow Jackets (Jesup, GA), 76-63 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Brunswick upgrades its record to 15-2 on the season. The Pirates travel to Statesboro (Statesboro, GA) to clash with the Blue Devils in a AAAAA Region 3 bout on Friday, January 16. The Blue Devils go into the bout with a record of 10-7. Statesboro won 65-63 in their recent league bout against Ware County (Waycross, GA)

Next up, the Yellow Jackets clash with the Thomson Bulldogs (Thomson, GA) in a AAAA Region 3 bout, on Friday, January 16. Wayne County will attempt to upgrade on its 3-14 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 3-12 record after their 64-55 league loss to Liberty County (Hinesville, GA).
