Florida High School Basketball - Mitchell tops Gaither

January 13, 2022: New Port Richey, FL 34655

Mitchell Mustangs (New Port Richey, FL) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Gaither Cowboys (Tampa, FL), 40-20 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Mitchell upgrades its record to 4-13 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to IMG Academy Blue (Bradenton, FL) to play the Ascenders in a non-league bout on Monday, January 17. The Ascenders come into the bout with a record of 1-4. IMG Academy Blue won 52-45 in their recent non-league bout against Lemon Bay (Englewood, FL)

Next up, the Cowboys play the Leto Falcons (Tampa, FL) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 14. Gaither will attempt to upgrade on its 1-16 season record. The Falcons come into the bout with a 4-7 record after their 40-31 non-league loss to Alonso (Tampa, FL).
