The Northwestern Area Wildcats basketball team scored 49 points and held the visiting Ipswich Tigers to 35 in the Wildcats non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Wildcats now sport a 3-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Potter County co-op [Gettysburg/Hoven] for a non-league contest on Monday, January 17. Northwestern Area will meet a Battlers team coming off a 48-38 non-league win over Stanley County (Fort Pierre, SD). The Battlers record now stands at 3-5.

The Tigers (3-6) will now prepare for their contest against North Central (Eureka, SD). The Thunder enter the B Region 2 contest with a 2-5 record. In their last contest, North Central was outscored by Leola/Frederick (Leola, SD), 35-29, in a non-league contest.
