Georgia High School Basketball - Screven County can't hold off Metter
January 13, 2023: Metter, GA 30439 The Metter Tigers basketball team scored 56 points and held the visiting Screven County Gamecocks to 50 in the Tigers league triumph on Friday.
The Tigers now sport a 2-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Emanuel County Institute for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 14. Metter will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 61-19 league loss to Jenkins County (Millen, GA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 1-14.
The Gamecocks (4-10) will now prepare for their contest against Johnson County (Wrightsville, GA). The Trojans enter the non-league contest with a 2-6 record. In their last contest, Johnson County was nudged by Georgia Military College (Milledgeville, GA), 67-59, in a league contest.
