Amherst Broncos (Amherst, NE) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Pleasanton Bulldogs (Pleasanton, NE), 54-40 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Amherst upgrades its record to 9-5 on the season. The Broncos travel to Gibbon (Gibbon, NE) to clash with the Buffaloes in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 19. The Buffaloes go into the bout with a record of 0-12. Gibbon lost 47-24 in their recent non-league bout against Doniphan-Trumbull (Doniphan, NE)

Next up, the Bulldogs clash with the Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Mustangs (Sumner, NE) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 14. Pleasanton will attempt to upgrade on its 8-5 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 9-0 record after their 54-28 non-league win over Axtell (Axtell, NE).
