Louisiana High School Basketball - Highland Baptist Christian overwhelms Covenant Christian Academy
January 13, 2023: New Iberia, LA 70563 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Highland Baptist Christian Bears (New Iberia, LA) and the visiting Covenant Christian Academy Lions (Houma, LA), saw Highland Baptist Christian's basketball squad wallop Covenant Christian Academy by a tally of 56-31.
With the victory, Highland Baptist Christian improves its record to 12-5 on the campaign. The Bears travel to Jeanerette (Jeanerette, LA) to play the Tigers in a 1A District 7 challenge on Tuesday, January 17. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 1-3. Jeanerette lost 42-32 in their recent league challenge against Vermilion Catholic (Abbeville, LA)
Next up, the Lions play the Houma Christian Warriors (Houma, LA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 17. Covenant Christian Academy will attempt to improve on its 4-5 season record.
