Deerfield Warriors (Deerfield, IL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Vernon Hills Cougars (Vernon Hills, IL), 72-51 in a league bout.

With the win, Deerfield upgrades its record to 16-4 on the season. The Warriors travel to Mother McAuley (Chicago, IL) to play the Mighty Macs in a non-league bout on Monday, January 16. The Mighty Macs go into the bout with a record of 15-6. Mother McAuley won 52-33 in their recent non-league bout against Maine West (Des Plaines, IL)

Next up, the Cougars play the Buffalo Grove Bison (Buffalo Grove, IL) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 16. Vernon Hills will attempt to upgrade on its 10-9 season record. The Bison go into the bout with a 6-14 record after their 41-31 non-league loss to Glenbrook North (Northbrook, IL).
