New Mexico High School Basketball - West Mesa trounces Belen
January 13, 2023: Belen, NM 87002 The West Mesa Mustangs (Albuquerque, NM) basketball crushed the host Belen Eagles (Belen, NM), 63-32 in Friday's non-league test.
The Mustangs (10-0) will now prepare for their test against La Cueva (Albuquerque, NM). The Bears go into the non-league test with a 5-4 record. In their last test, La Cueva was trounced by Atrisco Heritage Academy (Albuquerque, NM), 64-50, in a non-league test.
The Eagles now own a 2-7 record. They play next when they travel to St. Pius X for a non-league test on Wednesday, January 18. Belen will encounter a Sartans squad coming off a 44-36 non-league loss to Volcano Vista (Albuquerque, NM). The Sartans record now stands at 8-4.
