California High School Basketball - Laguna Creek nips Rio Americano

Laguna Creek Cardinals (Elk Grove, CA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Rio Americano Raiders (Sacramento, CA), 61-60 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Laguna Creek upgrades its record to 11-9 on the season. The Cardinals travel to McClatchy (Sacramento, CA) to play the Lions in a Metropolitan Conference bout on Wednesday, January 17. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 6-14. McClatchy lost 57-48 in their recent league bout against Kennedy (Sacramento, CA)

Next up, the Raiders play the Sacramento Dragons (Sacramento, CA) in a Capital Athletic League bout, on Monday, January 15. Rio Americano will attempt to upgrade on its 9-7 season record. The Dragons go into the bout with a 16-4 record after their 76-68 non-league win over Del Oro (Loomis, CA).
