The Northwest Rankin Cougars (Brandon, MS) basketball crushed the host Harrison Central Red Rebels (Gulfport, MS), 53-27 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Cougars (15-8) will now prepare for their test against Meridian (Meridian, MS). The Wildcats go into the 7A Region 3 test with a 11-7 record. In their last test, Meridian was trounced by Brandon (Brandon, MS), 40-25, in a league test.

The Red Rebels now own a 17-3 record. They play next when they travel to Biloxi for a 7A Region 4 test on Tuesday, January 16. Harrison Central will encounter a Indians squad coming off a 31-29 non-league loss to McGill-Toolen (Mobile, AL). The Indians record now stands at 19-3.
