Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Hawley Bearcats (Hawley, TX) and the visiting Anson Tigers (Anson, TX), saw Hawley's basketball squad hold off Anson by a tally of 52-51.

With the victory, Hawley improves its record to 8-6 on the campaign. The Bearcats travel to Stamford (Stamford, TX) to confront the Bulldogs in a 2A Region II District 10 challenge on Tuesday, January 18. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 4-7.

Next up, the Tigers confront the Hamlin Pied Pipers (Hamlin, TX) in a 2A Region II District 10 challenge, on Tuesday, January 18. Anson will attempt to improve on its 10-9 season record. The Pied Pipers come into the challenge with a 2-11 record after their 83-27 league loss to Cisco (Cisco, TX).
