The Franklin County Lions basketball team scored 66 points and held the host Monroe Area Hurricanes to 56 in the Lions league triumph on Friday.

The Lions now sport a 8-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Oconee County for a AAA Region 8 contest on Tuesday, January 18. Franklin County will battle a Warriors team coming off a 81-48 league win over Stephens County (Toccoa, GA). The Warriors record now stands at 12-3.

The Hurricanes (5-11) will now prepare for their contest against Social Circle (Social Circle, GA). The Redskins enter the non-league contest with a 16-0 record. In their last contest, Social Circle ran past Lincoln County (Lincolnton, GA), 81-44, in a league contest.
