Pierson Whalers (Sag Harbor, NY) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Greenport Porters (Greenport, NY), 74-43 in a league bout.

With the victory, Pierson upgrades its record to 8-0 on the campaign. The Whalers host Southampton (Southampton, NY) to play the Mariners in a Section 11 B/C/D-7 bout on Thursday, January 20. The Mariners come into the bout with a record of 4-1.

Next up, the Porters play the Southold Settlers (Southold, NY) in a Section 11 B/C/D-7 bout, on Thursday, January 20. Greenport will attempt to upgrade on its 6-4 season record. The Settlers come into the bout with a 6-5 record after their 58-38 league win over Smithtown Christian (Smithtown, NY).
