January 14, 2022: La Joya, TX 78560 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Vela Sabercats (Edinburg, TX) and the host La Joya Coyotes (La Joya, TX), saw Vela's basketball squad wallop La Joya by a tally of 64-31.
With the victory, Vela improves its record to 26-2 on the campaign. The Sabercats host Edinburg North (Edinburg, TX) to play the Cougars in a 6A Region IV District 31 challenge on Tuesday, January 18. The Cougars come into the challenge with a record of 7-16. Edinburg North lost 52-25 in their recent league challenge against Economedes (Edinburg, TX)
Next up, the Coyotes play the Economedes Jaguars (Edinburg, TX) in a 6A Region IV District 31 challenge, on Saturday, January 15. La Joya will attempt to improve on its 12-12 season record. The Jaguars come into the challenge with a 8-13 record after their 58-16 league loss to Edinburg (Edinburg, TX).
