In Saturday's non-league match, the host Columbia Eagles basketball team scored a good 55-42 triumph over the Southwest DeKalb Panthers.

In their next game, the Eagles meet the Landmark Christian War Eagles (Fairburn, GA) in a AA Region 5 match, on Tuesday, January 17. Columbia will attempt to better on its 17-1 season record. The War Eagles enter the match with a 7-10 record after their 76-52 non-league win over Cristo Rey Atlanta (Atlanta, GA).

With the defeat, Southwest DeKalb moves to 12-2 on the year. The Panthers travel to Holy Innocents Episcopal (Atlanta, GA) to meet the Golden Bears in a AAAA Region 6 match on Monday, January 16. The Golden Bears enter the match with a record of 8-7.
