Ohio High School Basketball - Great Crossing nudges Princeton
January 14, 2024: Cincinnati, OH 45246 In Sunday's non-league outing, the Great Crossing (Georgetown, KY) basketball squad edged the host Princeton Vikings (Cincinnati, OH), by a margin of 79-74.
The (17-1) will now prepare for their outing against Western Hills (Frankfort, KY). The Wolverines go into the District 41 outing with a 4-11 record.
The Vikings now own a 6-7 record. They play next when they host Lakota East for a Greater Miami outing on Friday, January 19. Princeton will clash with a Thunderhawks squad coming off a 60-59 non-league loss to Covington Catholic (Park Hills, KY). The Thunderhawks record now stands at 7-6.
First Quarter
52 seconds into the quarter Malachi went down with a knee injury. Princeton kept the game close without Malchi on the floor for Great Crossing.
Second Quarter
Malachi came back into the game late in the 2nd quarter and made an immediate impact for Great Crossing.
Third Quarter
Princeton threatened to pull away in the 3rd on multiple occassions but Great Crossing came up with answers each time.
Fourth Quarter
Princeton took an 8 point lead with around 4 minutes to go but GC went on a 12 to 1 run to take the lead and never look back.
