January 14, 2024: New Bedford, MA 02740 Fans at Sunday's non-league challenge between the New Bedford Whalers (New Bedford, MA) and the visiting St. Mary's Spartans (Lynn, MA), saw New Bedford's basketball squad overcome St. Mary's by a tally of 58-48.
With the victory, New Bedford improves its record to 3-6 on the campaign. The Whalers travel to Durfee (Fall River, MA) to confront the Hilltoppers in a South East challenge on Tuesday, January 16. The Hilltoppers come into the challenge with a record of 5-5. Durfee lost 77-71 in their recent league challenge against Dartmouth (South Dartmouth, MA)
Next up, the Spartans confront the Archbishop Williams Bishops (Braintree, MA) in a Catholic Central - Large challenge, on Tuesday, January 16. St. Mary's will attempt to improve on its 6-3 season record.
