January 14, 2025: Clinton, IL 61727 Monticello Sages (Monticello, IL) boosters left the game satisfied Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the host Clinton Maroons (Clinton, IL), 56-47 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Monticello upgrades its record to 9-7 on the year. The Sages host Bloomington Central Catholic (Bloomington, IL) to face the Saints in a Illini Prairie match on Friday, January 17. The Saints enter the match with a record of 8-8. Bloomington Central Catholic lost 56-51 in their recent non-league match against Sacred Heart-Griffin (Springfield, IL)
The Maroons now sport a 12-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Shelbyville for a Central Illinois match on Friday, January 17. Clinton will face a Rams squad coming off a 60-57 non-league win over Marshall (Marshall, IL). The Rams record now stands at 11-3.
