January 14, 2025: Floodwood, MN 55736 Floodwood Polar Bears (Floodwood, MN) supporters left the game happy Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad run past the visiting East Central Eagles (Sandstone, MN), 67-49 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Floodwood advances its record to 9-3 on the year. The Polar Bears travel to Cook County (Grand Marais, MN) to meet the Vikings in a A Section 7 match on Friday, January 17. The Vikings enter the match with a record of 1-12. Cook County won 72-48 in their recent league match against Fond du Lac Ojibwe Ogichida (Cloquet, MN)
The Eagles now own a 4-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Aitkin for a non-league match on Thursday, January 16. East Central will meet a Gobblers squad coming off a 68-47 league win over Hinckley-Finlayson (Hinckley, MN). The Gobblers record now stands at 13-4.
