January 15, 2022: Covington, VA 24426 In Saturday's non-league outing, the Alleghany Mountaineers (Covington, VA) basketball squad beat the visiting Page County Panthers (Shenandoah, VA), by a margin of 65-46.
The Mountaineers (9-3) will now prepare for their outing against James River (Buchanan, VA). The Knights go into the Three Rivers outing with a 9-3 record. In their last outing, James River was topped by Radford (Radford, VA), 56-43, in a league outing.
The Panthers now own a 4-9 record. They play next when they host East Rockingham for a Bull Run outing on Monday, January 17. Page County will clash with a squad coming off a 50-44 non-league win over Union [Appalachia/Powell Valley] (Appalachia, VA). The record now stands at 9-3.
