In Saturday's non-league outing, the East Thunderbirds (Cheyenne, WY) basketball squad edged the visiting Scottsbluff Bearcats (Scottsbluff, NE), by a margin of 71-70.

The Thunderbirds (11-1) will now prepare for their outing against Laramie (Laramie, WY). The Plainsmen go into the 4A Southeast outing with a 8-3 record. In their last outing, Laramie held off Rock Springs (Rock Springs, WY), 63-57, in a non-league outing.

The Bearcats now own a 12-4 record. They play next when they host Gering for a B District 8 outing on Saturday, January 22.
