In Saturday's non-league match, the host Speedway Sparkplugs basketball team scored a decisive 53-25 triumph over the Union County Patriots.

In their next game, the Sparkplugs meet the Eminence Eels (Eminence, IN) in a non-league match, on Saturday, January 15. Speedway will attempt to better on its 3-7 season record.

With the defeat, Union County moves to 4-6 on the year. The Patriots travel to Rushville (Rushville, IN) to meet the Lions in a non-league match on Tuesday, January 18. The Lions enter the match with a record of 3-9. Rushville lost 85-46 in their recent non-league match against New Castle (New Castle, IN)
