Illinois High School Basketball - Pontiac nudges Coal City
January 15, 2022: Coal City, IL 60416 Pontiac Indians (Pontiac, IL) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Coal City Coalers (Coal City, IL), 42-40 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Pontiac upgrades its record to 5-15 on the season. The Indians travel to Illinois Valley Central (Chillicothe, IL) to clash with the Grey Ghosts in a Illini Prairie bout on Monday, January 17. The Grey Ghosts go into the bout with a record of 9-12. Illinois Valley Central won 45-38 in their recent non-league bout against Manual (Peoria, IL)
Next up, the Coalers clash with the Manteno Panthers (Manteno, IL) in a Illinois Central 8 bout, on Thursday, January 20. Coal City will attempt to upgrade on its 11-9 season record.
