Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Pleasant Grove Spartans (Pleasant Grove, AL) and the visiting Central Red Devils (Phenix City, AL), saw Pleasant Grove's basketball squad hold off Central by a tally of 62-57.

With the victory, Pleasant Grove improves its record to 14-7 on the campaign. The Spartans host John Carroll Catholic (Birmingham, AL) to confront the Cavaliers in a 5A Area 9 challenge on Friday, January 19. The Cavaliers come into the challenge with a record of 12-9.
