January 15, 2024: Penn Yan, NY 14527 Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Gananda Central Blue Panthers (Walworth, NY) and the host Penn Yan Academy Mustangs (Penn Yan, NY), saw Gananda Central's basketball squad wallop Penn Yan Academy by a tally of 54-33.
With the victory, Gananda Central improves its record to 9-1 on the campaign. The Blue Panthers host Red Creek (Red Creek, NY) to play the Rams in a Section 5 Wayne challenge on Wednesday, January 17. The Rams come into the challenge with a record of 4-7. Red Creek won 45-26 in their recent league challenge against North Rose-Wolcott (Wolcott, NY)
Next up, the Mustangs play the Midlakes Screaming Eagles (Clifton Springs, NY) in a Section 5 Finger Lakes - East challenge, on Wednesday, January 17. Penn Yan Academy will attempt to improve on its 2-9 season record. The Screaming Eagles come into the challenge with a 4-9 record after their 53-25 non-league win over Clyde-Savannah (Clyde, NY).
