In Wednesday's non-league contest, the host Amboy Clippers basketball team scored a close 45-40 triumph over the Morrison Mustangs.

The Clippers (7-10) will now prepare for their contest against Fulton (Fulton, IL). The Steamers go into the Northwest Upstate Illini - South contest with a 8-10 record. In their last contest, Fulton nipped Forreston (Forreston, IL), 57-49, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Mustangs confront the Newman Central Catholic Comets (Sterling, IL) in a non-league contest, on Wednesday, January 22.
