The crowd at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Mountain Pointe Pride (Phoenix, AZ) and the host Maricopa Rams (Maricopa, AZ), observed Mountain Pointe's basketball team overwhelm Maricopa by a margin of 78-49.

The Pride (10-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Desert Mountain (Scottsdale, AZ). The Wolves come into the 5A East Sky challenge with a 6-10 record. In their last challenge, Desert Mountain trounced Centennial (Peoria, AZ), 61-59, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Rams battle the Catalina Foothills Falcons (Tucson, AZ) in a 5A Sonoran challenge, on Friday, January 17. Maricopa will attempt to better on its 5-8 season record. The Falcons come into the challenge with a 9-5 record after their 63-43 non-league loss to Salpointe Catholic (Tucson, AZ).
