The Strom Thurmond Rebels were victorious over the host South Aiken Thoroughbreds basketball squad by a final score of 51-43 in Wednesday's non-league outing.

Next, the Rebels face the American Leadership Academy Patriots (Lexington, SC) in a AA Region 2 outing, on Friday, January 17. Strom Thurmond will attempt to upgrade on its 7-9 season record. The Patriots enter the outing with a 4-11 record after their 41-30 league win over Saluda (Saluda, SC).

The Thoroughbreds (5-11) will now prepare for their outing against Midland Valley (Graniteville, SC). The Mustangs enter the AAAA Region 4 outing with a 13-4 record. In their last outing, Midland Valley ran past Aiken (Aiken, SC), 62-57, in a league outing.
