Wisconsin High School Basketball - Mercer knocked off by Johnston
January 16, 2024: Mercer, WI 54547 The Johnston Speedboys basketball team scored 62 points and held the host Mercer Tigers to 50 in the Speedboys non-league triumph on Tuesday.
The Speedboys now sport a 5-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lake Linden-Hubbell for a non-league contest on Thursday, January 18. Johnston will battle a Lakes team coming off a 64-44 non-league win over Ontonagon (Ontonagon, MI). The Lakes record now stands at 11-0.
The Tigers (2-8) will now prepare for their contest against Solon Springs (Solon Springs, WI). The Eagles enter the Northern Lights contest with a 3-7 record. In their last contest, Solon Springs ran past Bayfield (Bayfield, WI), 67-21, in a league contest.
