In Thursday's non-league contest, the visiting St. Thomas More Cougars basketball team scored a big 75-35 triumph over the Holy Savior Menard Eagles.

The Cougars (19-4) will now prepare for their contest against Iota (Iota, LA). The Bulldogs go into the non-league contest with a 11-3 record. In their last contest, Iota smashed Highland Baptist Christian (New Iberia, LA), 42-33, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Eagles confront the Rapides Mustangs (Lecompte, LA) in a 2A District 5 contest, on Friday, January 17. Holy Savior Menard will attempt to better on its 6-17 season record. The Mustangs go into the contest with a 6-11 record after their 66-63 non-league win over Opelousas Catholic (Opelousas, LA).
