Tennessee High School Basketball - Memphis East nips Memphis University
January 17, 2022: Memphis, TN 38119 Memphis East Mustangs (Memphis, TN) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Memphis University Owls (Memphis, TN), 54-52 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Memphis East upgrades its record to 11-3 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Overton (Memphis, TN) to play the Wolverines in a 4A District 16 bout on Tuesday, January 18. The Wolverines go into the bout with a record of 12-6. Overton won 70-58 in their recent non-league bout against Marion (Marion, AR)
Next up, the Owls play the Briarcrest Christian Saints (Eads, TN) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 21. Memphis University will attempt to upgrade on its 12-5 season record. The Saints go into the bout with a 9-3 record after their 62-52 league loss to Christian Brothers (Memphis, TN).
