January 17, 2022: Newport News, VA 23602 Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Menchville Monarchs (Newport News, VA) and the visiting Western Branch Bruins (Chesapeake, VA), saw Menchville's basketball squad overcome Western Branch by a tally of 65-52.
With the victory, Menchville improves its record to 9-3 on the campaign. The Monarchs host Denbigh (Newport News, VA) to confront the Patriots in a Peninsula challenge on Tuesday, January 18. The Patriots come into the challenge with a record of 2-8. Denbigh lost 69-29 in their recent league challenge against Heritage (Newport News, VA)
Next up, the Bruins confront the Hickory Hawks (Chesapeake, VA) in a Southeastern test, on Tuesday, January 25. Western Branch will attempt to advance on its 5-4 season record.
