Ohio High School Basketball - Lincoln can't hold off Newark

The Newark Wildcats basketball team scored 24 points and held the visiting Lincoln Golden Lions to 23 in the Wildcats non-league triumph on Monday.

The Wildcats now sport a 10-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Pickerington Central for a Ohio Capital - Buckeye contest on Friday, January 21. Newark will battle a Tigers team coming off a 64-45 non-league loss to IMG Academy (Bradenton, FL). The Tigers record now stands at 9-6.

The Golden Lions (10-6) will now prepare for their contest against Westland (Galloway, OH). The Cougars enter the Ohio Capital - Ohio contest with a 3-10 record. In their last contest, Westland was nudged by Grove City (Grove City, OH), 71-19, in a league contest.
