Tennessee High School Basketball - Jackson South Side can't hold off McKenzie
January 17, 2023: McKenzie, TN 38201 The McKenzie Rebels basketball team scored 58 points and restricted the visiting Jackson South Side Hawks to 54 in the Rebels non-league victory on Tuesday.
The Rebels now sport a 9-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Houston County for a 1A District 11 contest on Friday, January 20. McKenzie will battle a Fighting Irish team coming off a 70-63 non-league win over Stewart County (Dover, TN). The Fighting Irish record now stands at 7-9.
The Hawks (1-10) will now prepare for their contest against Ripley (Ripley, TN). The Tigers come into the non-league contest with a 4-13 record. In their last contest, Ripley edged Brighton (Brighton, TN), 53-33, in a league contest.
