Utah High School Basketball - Payson holds off Cedar Valley

January 17, 2023: Eagle Mountain, UT 84005

Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Payson Lions (Payson, UT) and the host Cedar Valley Aviators (Eagle Mountain, UT), saw Payson's basketball squad hold off Cedar Valley by a tally of 43-39.

With the victory, Payson improves its record to 9-4 on the campaign. The Lions host Tooele (Tooele, UT) to confront the Buffaloes in a 5A Region 7 challenge on Friday, January 20. The Buffaloes come into the challenge with a record of 3-9. Tooele lost 70-39 in their recent league challenge against Cottonwood (Salt Lake City, UT)

Next up, the Aviators confront the Stansbury Stallions (Stansbury Park, UT) in a 5A Region 7 challenge, on Thursday, January 19. Cedar Valley will attempt to improve on its 5-7 season record. The Stallions come into the challenge with a 5-9 record after their 53-42 league loss to Uintah (Vernal, UT).
